Viking Film is the Amsterdam based film production company founded in 2011 by Marleen Slot. International in scope, Viking Film wants to make high-quality films for both Dutch and international audiences with a special focus on arthouse, children films and animation films. Viking Film wants to be cross-border and intends to enter into cooperation with producers and makers from Europe, Latin America and Asia. 
 
Viking Film finished the feature films OSCURO ANIMAL (Felipe Guerrero, IFFR Tiger Competition 2016), SIV SLEEPS ASTRAY (Catti Edfeldt, Lena Hanno Clyne opening film Berlinale Generation K+), NEON BULL (Gabriel Mascaro, selection Venice Orizzonti and TIFF Competition 2015), ZURICH (Sacha Polak, Berlinale Forum winner CICAE Art Cinema Award 2015), THE SUMMER OF SANGAILE (Alanté Kavaïté, selected for Sundance Competition and Berlinale Panorama 2015), feature documentary NEW BOOBS (Sacha Polak) and the co-production LEONES (Jazmin Lopez, selected for Venice Film Festival 2012). Besides that she’s working on feature films MONK (Ties Schenk, Cinemart 2014), OINK’S REVENGE by Mascha Halberstad and JADE by Sacha Polak. 
 
Marleen worked as a producer at Lemming Film for many years. Her productions at Lemming Film include the feature films TONY 10 (Mischa Kamp), TAKING CHANCES (Nicole van Kilsdonk, opening film Cinekid 2011, selection Berlinale K+ 2012), SNACKBAR (selection Berlinale 14+, 2012), MY JOY (Sergei Loznitsa, Competition Cannes Film Festival 2010), OXYGEN (Hans van Nuffelen, European Film Academy Discovery Award) and VIVAN LAS ANTIPODAS! (Victor Kossakovsky, opening film Venice Film Festival 2012). 
 
Marleen studied Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam and specialised in Media Entertainment. In 2007 she attended the EAVE producer’s training and in 2009 she participated in ACE, the workshop and network for European producers. Besides this, she was president of the NFTVM (Association of New Film and Television Makers) from 2008 until 2010 and presently she is a member of the Board of ACE, of the Film Producers Netherlands association and of RIALTO cinema. In 2013 she was selected Producer on the Move during the Cannes Film Festival.
